Chipinque

Mountains surround the city of Monterrey, which gives good possibilities for a little sight seeing mixed with a good walk. One of these places is Parque Ecológico Chipinque just 10-15 minutes drive from downtown. The view from the parking lot was a little frightening, as the top of the park just disappeared in the clouds above the tree tops.

I forced myself to the top of the park Chipinque, and managed to smile and enjoy the place and the view through the sweat and the huff and puff. It only took something like 2.5 hours to climb all the way up on slippery trails, and then take the curving road down again from the top. Unfortunately the clouds that was there in the beginning didn't go away, so the view from the top was quite gray and boring.

The climb itself was great, reminding me of trekking in the north of Thailand, although I didn't feel the sense of being far away from civilization here, knowing downtown was as close as from Bush to McCain - not to mix these two guys op with civilization, sorry.
